Leeds United squad revealed for Middlesbrough as Daniel Farke makes Jayden Bogle decision

Posted on December 10, 2024

Daniel Farke has reminded his Leeds United players that only their best will be good enough against in-form Middlesbrough. The Whites were well beaten the last time they faced Boro at Elland Road back in August, going down to a 3-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup first round.

Since then, United have climbed up to second in the Championship after losing just three of their past 18 matches. They have also turned Elland Road into a fortress, winning seven on the spin.

But Boro arrive in West Yorkshire on the back of four wins from their past six matches. They are currently on a four-match unbeaten run on their travels.

Whites boss Farke said: "They have an experienced manager in Michael [Carrick] and some experienced players. They know they have to be at their best to win points here, but they have confidence and they are a good side and they have a chance. We have to be aware of the counter-attacks; they have lighting quick players.

United will make a late check on Jayden Bogle (hamstring). With Junior Firpo facing up to six weeks out with a hamstring knock, Farke will be desperate for Bogle to passed fit to be involved.

Sam Byram is expected to return to the matchday squad after recovering from injury. However, Bulgarian international Ilia Gruev (knee) is definitely out.

Leeds United squad vs Middlesbrough: Meslier, Darlow, Cairns, Byram, Bogle, Struijk, Rodon, Struijk, Wober, Debayo, Schmidt, James, Gnonto, Rothwell, Tanaka, Ampadu, Guilavogui, Crew, Solomon, Ramazani, Aaronson, Piroe, Joseph, Bamford, Gelhardt.
