Mailson Lima Leaves Persib Bandung Ahead of Bali United Clash
Posted on January 07, 2025
Persib Bandung's head coach Bojan Hodak has confirmed that Mailson Lima will not be traveling with the team for their upcoming match against Bali United on January 7, 2025. The decision comes as Lima is set to leave the club during the second transfer window. Hodak initially reported that the team was in good condition, with only Croatian midfielder Mateo Kocijan absent due to a yellow card accumulation, but later clarified Lima’s situation during a press conference.
Mailson Lima, originally from Cape Verde, has played his last match for Persib, as Hodak stated, "Lima tidak hadir. Karena saya berpikir dia telah memainkan pertandingan terakhirnya untuk Persib," indicating that the forward's departure is imminent. Although specifics about his next club have not been disclosed, there are reports of interest from PSS Sleman and Sriwijaya FC, both of which are looking to secure his services.
The club's Sporting Director, Adhitia Putra Herawan, mentioned negotiations are ongoing with both interested teams, but no final agreement has been reached yet. As Persib prepares for the crucial match against Bali United, they will have to adjust without Lima, who has been a significant part of their squad.
