Da Nang FC Bolsters Defense with Brazilian Signings
Posted on January 15, 2025
Da Nang FC has officially announced the signing of Brazilian center-back Cassio Fernando Scheid as part of their efforts to strengthen their defensive lineup in the V.League 1. The 29-year-old, who stands at 1.86 meters and is left-footed, brings a wealth of international experience, having played professionally in Brazil, Portugal, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Scheid's arrival comes at a crucial time for Da Nang FC, who currently sit at the bottom of the league table after conceding 17 goals in just nine matches, the highest in the league. He replaces Werick Caetano, who departed the club after a brief three-month stint. Despite Caetano scoring three goals in nine games, the club opted to make a change to address their defensive vulnerabilities.
With Scheid now in the mix, Da Nang FC has three foreign players: Scheid, fellow center-back Rangel Merlon, and center-forward Yuri Mamute. The club hopes that Scheid's experience will help improve their defensive performance as they aim to climb up the league standings and secure better results in the coming matches.
