Both clubs face charges for failing to ensure their players behaved appropriately after the final whistle, while Slot has been cited for acting in an improper manner towards referee Michael Oliver, which resulted in him receiving a red card.

The tumultuous finish of the match was ignited by James Tarkowski's dramatic equalizer for Everton in the 98th minute, a goal awarded after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review. Liverpool contested the validity of the goal, claiming a foul occurred in the build-up. As the match concluded, tensions escalated, culminating in Everton's Abdoulaye Doucoure celebrating in front of Liverpool fans, which led to a confrontation with Reds midfielder Curtis Jones. Both players were subsequently sent off for second yellow cards.

In addition to the charges against the clubs, Slot's assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, was also red-carded and will face similar allegations regarding his conduct.
