The complaint, filed in 2023, pertains to the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, which addresses financial support from non-EU states to companies operating within the EU market. La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed that City has benefitted from subsidies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which he argues has distorted competition both in Spain and across Europe.
