UEFA Investigates Four Real Madrid Players for Indecent Conduct
Posted on March 28, 2025
UEFA has launched an investigation into four Real Madrid players following allegations of indecent conduct during their recent Champions League last-16 victory over Atletico Madrid. The players in question—Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Dani Ceballos—are accused of making inappropriate gestures towards the Atletico fans after securing their advancement to the quarter-finals via a penalty shootout.
Reports indicate that Rudiger was seen making a throat-slitting gesture directed at the crowd, while Mbappe appeared to make a crotch-grabbing motion. These actions were reportedly noted and reported to UEFA by Atletico Madrid shortly after the match.
As a result of the investigation, the players could face disciplinary action, including the possibility of suspension. However, there is no certainty that the case will be resolved before Real Madrid's upcoming quarter-final match against Arsenal, with the first leg scheduled for April 8 at the Emirates Stadium.
In response to the allegations, UEFA has appointed an ethics and disciplinary inspector to examine the claims made against the players. The governing body indicated that further information regarding the investigation will be released in due course.
This incident adds another layer of intrigue to the ongoing Champions League competition as Real Madrid aims to make a deep run in the tournament while navigating potential disciplinary challenges.
