Marcus Rashford Set to Miss Remainder of Season Due to Hamstring Injury

Posted on April 29, 2025

Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford is poised to miss the remainder of the season following a hamstring injury. The 27-year-old, who is on loan from Manchester United, was unable to participate in the recent FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace due to the extent of his injury, which is currently being evaluated.

While there remains a slim chance that Rashford could return before the conclusion of the Premier League campaign, it is more likely that he will focus on rehabilitation in preparation for England's upcoming matches in June. These include a World Cup qualifier against Andorra and a friendly against Senegal. If he were to make a comeback, his last league appearance of the season would be against Tottenham on May 18, as he is ineligible to play in Villa's final match against Manchester United on May 25.

Since joining Aston Villa in February, Rashford has scored four goals in 17 appearances across all competitions. He has recently opted to delay discussions regarding his future with clubs until the summer, despite having a contract with Manchester United that runs until 2028. Reports indicate that Rashford does not foresee himself playing for United again under current manager Ruben Amorim.

Rashford's situation adds another layer of complexity to his career, as he aims to recover in time for important international fixtures while also contemplating his club future during the off-season.
