Posted on May 28, 2025
Barcelona's rising star, Lamine Yamal, has officially signed a new six-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2031. The 17-year-old winger has enjoyed a breakout season, contributing significantly to Barcelona's success in securing a domestic treble, which includes the La Liga title, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.
Yamal's new deal comes as his previous contract was set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season. Since making his debut at just 15 years old in 2023, he has made 55 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals and providing 25 assists. His performances have not only solidified his place in the team but also garnered attention on the global football stage.
Barcelona's management, including club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, were present when Yamal signed the contract. The club expressed their excitement about Yamal's renewal, stating that his emergence reflects the strength of Barcelona's ongoing project and highlights his unique talent, which has quickly become part of the club’s rich history.
Having already set multiple records, including becoming the youngest scorer in the history of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup, Yamal is also the youngest player to reach 100 appearances for Barcelona. He has earned 19 caps for Spain, participating in their Euro 2024 victory over England in the final.
As Yamal prepares to continue his development at Barcelona, the club aims to build on its recent successes while nurturing its young talents, making Yamal a key part of their future plans.
