Jorginho Joins Flamengo After Leaving Arsenal

Italy midfielder Jorginho has officially signed with Brazilian club Flamengo following his departure from Arsenal. The 33-year-old's contract with the Gunners was set to expire on June 30, but both parties reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract early, allowing him to join Flamengo before they compete in the FIFA Club World Cup starting on June 14 in the United States.
Jorginho's career includes notable stints at Hellas Verona, Napoli, Chelsea, and Arsenal. He made the move to the Premier League in 2018 when he joined Chelsea, where he achieved significant success, winning the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup during his tenure at Stamford Bridge. He later transferred to Arsenal in January 2023, accumulating 78 appearances for the North London club.
Following his departure, Arsenal expressed their gratitude toward Jorginho, stating, "Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Jorgi for his contribution to the club and we wish him and his family all the best for the future." His move to Flamengo signifies a new chapter in his career, as he aims to make an impact in the Brazilian league.
