Thomas Frank Appointed as Tottenham Hotspur's New Head Coach
Posted on June 13, 2025
Tottenham Hotspur has officially appointed Thomas Frank as their new head coach, signing him to a contract that extends until 2028. The 51-year-old Dane takes over the managerial role following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, who led Spurs to victory in the Europa League final earlier this month.
Frank arrives at Tottenham after a successful seven-year stint at Brentford, where he played a crucial role in the club's ascent from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021. Under his leadership, Brentford established themselves as a competitive force in the top flight, achieving respectable finishes, including a 10th-place standing last season.
Tottenham's decision to bring in Frank comes after a disappointing league campaign, where they finished 17th, losing 22 out of 38 matches and finishing significantly behind Brentford. Despite these struggles, Spurs qualified for next season's Champions League by winning the Europa League, marking their first major trophy in 17 years.
Frank's coaching staff will include Justin Cochrane as his assistant, along with Chris Haslam and Joe Newton, who are also joining from Brentford. Another assistant, Andreas Georgson, has been recruited from Manchester United.
Brentford expressed gratitude for Frank's contributions, highlighting his emotional intelligence and connection with fans that helped transform the club's culture. As Spurs look to rebuild, Frank's experience and tactical knowledge will be pivotal in revitalizing a team eager to return to the upper echelons of English football.
Fans and analysts are curious to see how Frank's data-driven approach will influence the team's style of play, especially following Postecoglou's controversial tactics that received mixed reviews. His arrival is viewed as a significant gamble, but one that could lead to positive changes at Tottenham Hotspur.
