Cristiano Ronaldo Set to Sign New Contract with Al-Nassr
Posted on June 26, 2025
Cristiano Ronaldo is on the verge of signing a new contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, according to sources. The 40-year-old Portugal captain's current deal was set to expire at the end of June, but reports indicate that a two-year extension is nearly finalized.
Ronaldo had previously hinted at a potential departure after posting on social media that "the chapter is over" following Al-Nassr's final Saudi Pro League game of the season. Speculation surrounding his future intensified after FIFA President Gianni Infantino suggested he could join a team participating in the Club World Cup, which Al-Nassr did not qualify for. Despite receiving offers from clubs involved in the tournament, Ronaldo opted to remain in Saudi Arabia.
Having recently contributed to Portugal's triumph in the UEFA Nations League, Ronaldo appears committed to his current club and is even contemplating investments in the Gulf region. Since joining Al-Nassr in 2023 after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo has made a significant impact, scoring 99 goals in 111 appearances, including 35 goals last season, which earned him the league's Golden Boot award.
The player’s potential contract renewal comes at a time of transition for Al-Nassr, following the departure of Italian manager Stefano Pioli, who led the team to a third-place finish in the league last season. Ronaldo expressed gratitude for Pioli's contributions on social media as the coach prepares to take charge of Fiorentina.
As Ronaldo continues his career in Saudi Arabia, the football world watches closely to see how his next chapter unfolds and what further accomplishments he may achieve in the coming seasons.
