Cristiano Ronaldo Signs New Contract with Al-Nassr Until 2027

Posted on June 27, 2025

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially signed a new two-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, extending his stay with the team until 2027. The 40-year-old Portugal captain's previous deal was set to expire at the end of June, leading to speculation about his future. However, these rumors have been put to rest with the announcement of his contract extension.

After joining Al-Nassr in December 2022 following a tumultuous exit from Manchester United, Ronaldo has made a significant impact, scoring 35 goals in 41 matches last season and securing the league's top scorer title for the second consecutive year. Overall, he has netted 99 goals in 111 appearances for the club, edging closer to his milestone of 1,000 senior career goals.

In a message posted on social media, Ronaldo expressed his enthusiasm about the new chapter, stating, "Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together." Despite Al-Nassr not winning any domestic titles during his tenure, his contributions have been pivotal to the team's performance.

Ronaldo's decision to remain in Saudi Arabia comes after he recently helped Portugal secure the UEFA Nations League title. His commitment to Al-Nassr appears to preclude any return to European football, especially after he reportedly turned down offers from teams involved in the upcoming Club World Cup.

This contract extension will be highly lucrative for Ronaldo, continuing his status as one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, with an annual salary reportedly around £177 million. The future leadership of Al-Nassr is currently uncertain following the departure of former manager Stefano Pioli, but Ronaldo's presence will undoubtedly remain a focal point for the club as they look to build on their recent performances.
