Manchester United Players Given Opportunity to Explore Transfers
Posted on July 05, 2025
Manchester United has granted five players, including Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, additional time to explore potential moves away from the club. This decision comes as the club seeks to accommodate their requests for a change of scenery. In addition to Rashford and Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are also part of this group that will not report back to training at Carrington as scheduled.
Rashford and Sancho, in particular, have been informed that they do not fit into manager Ruben Amorim's plans for the upcoming season. Rashford, who expressed a desire for a "new challenge" after spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, remains interested in a move to Barcelona. However, no official offers have been made for him yet.
Antony, who had a successful loan spell at Real Betis, is being pursued for a return there, while Sancho's situation is also being monitored with Juventus reportedly interested in him. United is looking for around £25 million for Sancho following Chelsea's decision to end their obligation to make his loan permanent this summer.
Garnacho's future remains uncertain, with speculation about interest from Chelsea, though no offers have been received for him. Malacia, who recently returned from a loan at PSV Eindhoven, also finds himself in a position where he could explore new opportunities.
As decisions about their futures unfold during this extended period, all five players will have access to full medical and training support if they end up returning to Carrington. United is simultaneously focusing on bolstering their squad, with ongoing discussions regarding potential signings, including Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
