Jhon Duran Joins Fenerbahce on Year-Long Loan from Al-Nassr

Posted on July 08, 2025

Colombian striker Jhon Duran has officially joined Fenerbahce on a one-year loan from Al-Nassr, just six months after his £71 million transfer from Aston Villa. The 21-year-old forward, who previously enjoyed a successful stint at Villa scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances last season, continued his impressive form in Saudi Arabia by netting 12 times in 18 matches after his January move to Al-Nassr.

Fenerbahce announced the agreement, expressing their excitement for Duran's addition to the squad. "We wish our player a season full of success under our striped jersey," the club stated. Duran's move comes after he struggled to secure a regular starting position at Villa, often playing second fiddle to England international Ollie Watkins.

Duran's career has seen him transition from Chicago Fire to Aston Villa and now to Fenerbahce, where he will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the Turkish league. The club finished second last season and is looking to build on that success. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, who also plays for Al-Nassr, remains with the Saudi club after signing a two-year contract, highlighting the contrasting journeys of these two forwards. Duran has also represented Colombia internationally, scoring three goals in 17 appearances.
