Galatasaray Triggers Victor Osimhen's Release Clause

Posted on July 09, 2025

Galatasaray has officially agreed to pay the full €75 million release clause for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as reported on Tuesday. The decision comes after the Turkish club's initial bids for the player were rejected by Napoli. By opting to fulfill the release clause, Galatasaray aims to secure Osimhen's services permanently, following a successful loan spell in Istanbul where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Osimhen's release clause is valid for clubs outside Italy until July 15, and Galatasaray's willingness to meet this financial demand indicates their commitment to strengthening their squad. The 25-year-old forward had previously experienced a frustrating transfer saga, as a permanent move away from Napoli fell through on deadline day last summer. However, the club's determination to bring him back has now led them to this decisive step.

In addition to the transfer fee, reports suggest that Osimhen has reached an agreement with Galatasaray for a four-year contract, which is set to pay him €16 million net per season. This move is anticipated not only to enhance Galatasaray's attacking capabilities but also to solidify their status in both domestic and European competitions.
