Mikel Arteta Signals Potential for More Arsenal Signings
Posted on July 22, 2025
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that the club may pursue additional signings before the transfer window closes, acknowledging that the team is "short on numbers." Despite a busy summer in the transfer market, where the Gunners have spent approximately £123.5 million on players like Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke, Arteta believes the squad still requires further reinforcement in terms of depth and quality.
The club is currently engaged in negotiations for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, whose transfer fee is reported to be around £63.5 million. Although Arsenal had hoped to finalize Gyokeres' deal in time for their pre-season tour, Arteta has not ruled out the possibility of new signings joining the squad while they are in Asia. He emphasized the ongoing search for players to strengthen the team, stating, "There’s still a long time in the window and we are seeking still."
As Arsenal prepares for upcoming matches against AC Milan and Tottenham, Arteta expressed optimism about the new signings' impact, noting that fresh faces bring excitement and energy to the squad. The manager is keen to elevate the team's performance levels as they aim for success in the Premier League and beyond. With the transfer window still open, fans will be watching closely to see if Arsenal can secure further talent to bolster their ambitions for the coming season.
