Tottenham in Talks with Manchester City Over Savinho Transfer
Posted on August 12, 2025
Tottenham Hotspur is currently in discussions with Manchester City regarding a potential transfer for winger Savinho. The Brazilian international, who joined City from Troyes just last summer, has attracted interest after a promising debut season where he scored three goals and provided 13 assists across 48 appearances.
Reports indicate that Tottenham has proposed a fee of approximately £43 million (€50 million) for the 21-year-old; however, City is not keen on parting ways with Savinho and has set a higher price tag for any potential sale. The Premier League champions view Savinho as a key player for the future, especially following the recent arrival of Rayan Cherki and the competition he faces from established players like Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku.
Savinho's versatility allows him to play both as a winger and in a more central attacking role, which could fill the gap left by James Maddison's long-term injury. With Tottenham also losing Heung-Min Son to LAFC this summer, acquiring Savinho would provide them with a much-needed attacking option as they look to strengthen their squad following significant summer investments.
As talks progress, Tottenham is keen to finalize a deal that could see Savinho become a critical part of their attacking lineup, potentially allowing him to take on a more prominent role compared to what he might have at City this season. With Spurs already having spent over £120 million on new signings, the outcome of these negotiations could significantly impact their campaign in the upcoming Premier League season.
