Arsenal Set to Sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace
Posted on August 21, 2025
Arsenal is reportedly close to finalizing a £60 million deal to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with the player favoring a move to the Gunners over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The agreement in principle comes after Arsenal's bid, which includes an additional £8 million in potential add-ons, was accepted by Palace. Eze's preference for Arsenal is significant, especially considering his history with the club, where he began his youth career.
Tottenham had been in negotiations with Crystal Palace and believed they had secured a deal after ten days of discussions. However, these talks were not completed, allowing Arsenal to swoop in. Eze is expected to provide depth to Mikel Arteta's squad, especially in light of concerns over Kai Havertz's knee injury, which has created a need for reinforcements in attacking positions.
Crystal Palace’s manager, Oliver Glasner, indicated that Eze would still participate in the team's upcoming UEFA Conference League play-off match against Fredrikstad, highlighting the player's commitment to the club in the meantime. Eze, who had an impressive season last year scoring 14 goals, including a crucial strike in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, has expressed a desire to join Arsenal before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
The potential transfer of Eze to Arsenal would mark a significant moment in the current transfer window, particularly as it would leave Tottenham disappointed after they believed they were in a strong position to sign him. With Eze's background as a lifelong Arsenal fan, the move seems destined to materialize, showcasing Arsenal's intent to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
