Galatasaray in Negotiations for Yves Bissouma's Loan from Tottenham
Posted on August 27, 2025
Galatasaray is currently in discussions with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a loan move for midfielder Yves Bissouma. The 28-year-old Malian international has not featured for Spurs this season, primarily due to issues related to punctuality, which led to him being omitted from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, he has missed the opening Premier League match against Burnley due to an injury and was unavailable for the recent 2-0 victory against Manchester City.
Bissouma joined Tottenham from Brighton in 2022 for a reported fee of £25 million, including add-ons, and has since made 100 appearances for the club. His experience includes starting in the Europa League final victory over Manchester United in May. However, with the arrival of Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich, who has already made an impact by scoring against Manchester City, Bissouma's position in the squad has become precarious.
The potential loan to Galatasaray could provide Bissouma with valuable playing time and the opportunity to revitalize his career after a challenging start to the season. As negotiations progress, both clubs will aim to finalize arrangements before the transfer window closes, allowing Bissouma to contribute significantly in Turkey while helping Spurs manage their squad depth effectively.
