Harry Kane's Scoring Brilliance: Can He Win the Ballon d'Or?
Posted on October 23, 2025
Harry Kane, now playing for Bayern Munich, is making headlines with his prolific scoring as he eyes the prestigious Ballon d'Or. Following a trophy-laden career at Tottenham Hotspur, Kane finally lifted silverware after helping Bayern secure the Bundesliga title last season, setting the stage for further accolades both individually and with his club.
Despite his impressive form, having scored 20 goals in just 12 matches this season, Kane ranked only 13th in the latest Ballon d'Or standings and has never finished higher than 10th. However, since the announcement of Ousmane Dembélé as the world’s best player, Kane's game has seemingly reached new heights.
In a recent Champions League match, Kane scored twice in a 7-2 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen, continuing his remarkable streak and proving instrumental in Bayern's attacking lineup. His ability to adapt and excel in various roles on the pitch, along with his scoring capability, has drawn comparisons to legendary strikers.
Kane acknowledges that success in both the Champions League and the upcoming World Cup with England will be critical for his Ballon d'Or aspirations. He stated, “I would love to win it for sure... It would be an accumulation of doing something great individually and as a team.”
Historically, only a few English players have won the Ballon d'Or, with the last being Michael Owen in 2001. As Kane continues to break scoring records and showcase his versatile playing style, the question remains: can he secure the coveted award amidst fierce competition from emerging talents like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé?
With Bayern currently in strong form and Kane's scoring ability peaking, the coming months will be crucial. If he maintains his impressive performances and helps his team achieve success, Kane could very well find himself in contention for the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
