Man Utd Target to opt for Aston Villa move
Posted on January 18, 2024
Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal has caught the attention of Manchester United, who are looking to sign the 26-year-old for a fee in the region on €60 million, according to The Mirror.
Reports suggest that the Red Devils are keen on Oyarzabal as a replacement for Jadon Sancho, who joined Borussia Dortmund on loan earlier this week, providing an assist on his first game since rejoining the German side.
Yet, the Spaniard is likely to snub United’s approach in favour of a move to join Unai Emery at Aston Villa.
Oyarzabal has been a Real Sociedad player for his whole career and although he is under contract with the Basque side until 2028 is reportedly seeking a new challenge.
The versatile winger is desirable to Erik Ten Hag who has seen the departure of Jadon Sancho on loan, and whom they will look to sell in the summer, and £82 million Antony still struggling to find form.
Mikel Oyarzabal has scored eight league goals already this season and currently boasts a WhoScored.com rating of 6.75 for his efforts for Sociedad this term.
