In the first half, Sheikhri and Rajami's header attempts consecutively hit the crossbar. In the second half, substitute Radif quickly scored, and also coming off the bench, Cho Gue-sung's header in the 9th minute of injury time equalized the score.
In extra time, Kasal made crucial saves, and Cho Gue-sung missed a golden opportunity. In the penalty shootout, Zhao Xianyou made two key saves, while Hwang Hee-chan converted the decisive penalty kick. In the end, South Korea won the penalty shootout 4-2, advancing to the Asian Cup quarter-finals with a total score of 5-3, and will face Australia in the quarter-finals.
