Posted on January 16, 2025
The NBA has announced the rescheduling of nine games that were postponed due to the recent wildfires in California and a winter storm in Atlanta. The league made these adjustments after three games were affected last week, with two involving the Los Angeles teams and one in Atlanta.
The first game to be postponed was between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets, originally set for January 9. This matchup will now take place on February 19 at the Crypto.com Arena. Following that, the Los Angeles Clippers' game against the Hornets was postponed and is now scheduled for March 16 at the Intuit Dome. Additionally, the Atlanta Hawks' game against the Houston Rockets, postponed due to inclement weather on January 11, will now be played on January 28 at State Farm Arena.
To accommodate these changes, several other games have also been rescheduled. The Chicago Bulls will now face the Clippers on January 20 instead of January 21. The Washington Wizards' game against the Utah Jazz has been moved from January 23 to March 19, while the Jazz will now play the Lakers a day earlier on February 10. Other rescheduling includes adjustments for the Wizards' games against the Clippers and the Portland Trail Blazers, as well as the Clippers' matchup with the Jazz.
These updates reflect the league's commitment to player and fan safety amidst challenging weather conditions.
