LeBron James and Lakers Suffer Third Straight Loss to Magic, Fans Express Frustration

Posted on March 25, 2025

The Los Angeles Lakers faced another setback on the road, falling to the Orlando Magic 118-106, marking their third consecutive loss. LeBron James led the team with 24 points, six rebounds, and seven assists but struggled with his shooting, going 9-of-18 from the field and missing all three of his three-point attempts. Luka Doncic was the standout performer for the Lakers, scoring 32 points along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Austin Reaves contributed 18 points, but it wasn't enough to secure a win.

The defeat leaves the Lakers with a record of 43-28, tied with the Memphis Grizzlies for fourth and fifth place in the Western Conference, a disappointing position given their recent struggles, including losing seven of their last ten games. The Magic improved to 34-38 as they continue their pursuit of a play-in spot.

Fans did not hold back in their criticism following the game, especially since two of the Lakers’ recent losses came against teams below .500 in the standings. The Lakers had a slim lead at halftime, but a dismal third quarter saw them score only 18 points compared to the Magic's 34, which ultimately sealed their fate.

James opened the game with an assist to Reaves, who hit a pull-up jumper, but the momentum quickly shifted as the Lakers went cold after the break. Despite Doncic's efforts, the team could not recover in the fourth quarter, with James contributing only four points in that period.

As the Lakers prepare for their next challenge against the Indiana Pacers, they desperately need to bounce back and regain their form. With the playoffs fast approaching, the pressure is mounting for James and the team to turn their season around.
