NBA Trade Proposal: Jarrett Allen to the Warriors for Future Assets

Posted on May 26, 2025

In a recent trade idea, the Golden State Warriors are looking to address a significant gap in their roster by acquiring All-Star center Jarrett Allen from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following a disappointing playoff exit, the Warriors are keen on strengthening their center position to enhance their competitiveness for the upcoming season.

The proposed trade would see the Warriors send Moses Moody, Gui Santos, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and protected first-round picks in 2026 and 2028 to the Cavaliers in exchange for Allen and Craig Porter Jr. This move could provide the Warriors with a much-needed upgrade at the center position, as Allen's defensive prowess and rebounding capabilities could significantly bolster their lineup.

Despite the Cavaliers suffering a surprising second-round playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers, parting with Allen might be a tough decision. He is a valuable asset, and trading him could deplete the Cavaliers' depth. However, for the Warriors, acquiring Allen could represent an opportunity to secure a center who offers a blend of defensive reliability and offensive versatility, potentially serving as an improved version of Kevon Looney.

The Warriors are currently in a position where they must consider significant roster changes, and while Allen would be a prime target, it’s likely that they would need to include Jonathan Kuminga in any deal to make it happen. This trade idea reflects the Warriors' ongoing pursuit of a championship-caliber roster while navigating the complexities of player transactions.

As the offseason approaches, all eyes will be on the Warriors' strategies in the trade market, with fans eager to see how they will reshape their roster for a more successful run next season.
