Tyrese Haliburton Injured in Game 7 of NBA Finals Against Thunder

Posted on June 23, 2025

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered an injury during the crucial Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The incident occurred midway through the first quarter, where Haliburton had been performing exceptionally well, scoring three three-pointers in the initial five minutes of the game. However, while driving toward the basket, he slipped and fell, leading to immediate concern on the court.

As team medical staff rushed to his aid, Haliburton was visibly upset, slapping his fist on the court and shedding tears. He was later seen gingerly making his way to the locker room, assisted by two staff members and covering his head with a towel. Reports from the broadcast indicated that Haliburton had sustained an Achilles injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the game.

This injury marks a significant blow for the Pacers, as Haliburton was a contender for the NBA Finals MVP. Earlier in the series, he had also dealt with a calf injury during Game 5, raising concerns about his health and availability during the most pivotal moments of the Finals. The Pacers will need to regroup quickly as they face the challenges of the championship series without one of their star players.
