Rockets to Host 2025 NBA Draft Experience at Toyota Center
Posted on June 24, 2025
The Houston Rockets are set to hold their 2025 NBA Draft experience at the Toyota Center, despite not having a draft pick of their own. The event will kick off at 7:00 PM Central on June 25, with doors opening a few hours earlier for fans to enjoy various activities.
Although the Rockets technically own the No. 10 pick and the No. 59 pick, both selections will be traded to the Phoenix Suns as part of the blockbuster deal that will bring superstar Kevin Durant to Houston. This trade cannot be finalized until July 6, as it requires Jalen Green to be on a higher salary for the upcoming season to comply with financial regulations. Consequently, while the Rockets will technically make the selections, the Suns will dictate who gets chosen.
To maintain excitement among fans, the Rockets are moving ahead with their draft night festivities. Legendary players Steve Francis, Moochie Norris, and Rudy Tomjanovich will be present for autographs and photos. The event will feature activities suitable for all ages, including open play on half-sized basketball courts, photo opportunities with the 1994-1995 NBA championship trophies, and a dedicated area for children with games and entertainment.
Fans can also expect appearances from local personalities and Rockets entertainment teams, such as the Clutch City Dancers and Rockets DJ Palmo. Additionally, attendees will have the chance to purchase official 2025 NBA draft merchandise and explore a new collaboration with Houston artist Donkeeboy.
Tickets for the event are available for just $1 each, and attendees can park for free in the adjacent Toyota Tundra Garage. While the Rockets might not have their own draft picks, the focus remains on building a championship-caliber roster around Durant, emphasizing veteran acquisitions over rookies.
