Victor Oladipo Aims for NBA Comeback After Two-Year Hiatus

Posted on July 16, 2025

Victor Oladipo is setting his sights on a return to the NBA after two years away from the game, primarily due to injuries that have plagued his career. The former No. 2 overall pick recently conducted a private workout in Las Vegas, which attracted considerable attention from both NBA and European teams. During the session, he participated in 5-on-5 scrimmages against international professionals, impressing scouts and executives in attendance.

The 33-year-old guard last played for the Miami Heat during the 2022-23 season, where he suffered a torn left patellar tendon in the playoffs, sidelining him for the entire subsequent season. Despite his injury woes, Oladipo remains optimistic about his future. He took to social media to express his readiness to contribute to any NBA team, stating, "I know I can help any team in any role win in any way!" His confidence stems from a renewed sense of well-being, as he mentions feeling "better than I felt in the last seven years."

Throughout his career, injuries have significantly limited Oladipo's impact, as he has not played more than 50 games in a season since 2018. However, when healthy, he has showcased All-Star potential, averaging 20 points per game and providing strong defensive capabilities. If he can regain his health, there is a belief that a team will be willing to give him a chance, potentially as a solid rotation player off the bench. His journey back to the NBA will be closely watched as he attempts to rebuild his career and make a meaningful impact once again.
