NBA Concludes Investigation into Kevin Porter Jr., Suspension Already Served
Posted on July 18, 2025
The NBA has officially wrapped up its investigation into Kevin Porter Jr. concerning a domestic violence incident from 2023, which led to his suspension for four games. However, this suspension has already been accounted for, as Porter Jr. has missed over a year from league activities following the incident.
In September 2023, Porter Jr., then with the Houston Rockets, was arrested in Manhattan after a domestic violence dispute that resulted in charges of second-degree assault and strangulation. The victim, who had a relationship with Porter, was hospitalized as a result of the incident. Porter Jr. later entered a plea deal, pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault and harassment, and completed a domestic violence intervention program.
After being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Porter Jr. was cut immediately and spent the subsequent season playing in Greece. When he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers for the following season, the NBA resumed its investigation. He was subsequently traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he signed a two-year contract worth $10.5 million (with a player option for the second year). Porter Jr. is expected to join the Bucks for training camp in September, marking his return to the NBA.
