Discussions with Carrick have reportedly focused on his vision for the remainder of the season, with an agreement close to being finalized. Solskjaer, who previously managed the club, is also in the mix, and his familiarity with the club's culture could play a vital role in the decision-making process.
Currently, the club is eager to make an appointment ahead of the crucial Manchester derby scheduled for January 17. In the meantime, interim head coach Darren Fletcher will continue to lead the team, focusing on preparations for upcoming matches.
