Arsenal Eye Rogers, Kroupi and a New Arteta Deal as Summer Plans Take Shape

Đăng trên Tháng sáu 02, 2026, updated on Tháng sáu 02, 2026

Arsenal’s title celebrations are barely over, but the club is already focused on what comes next: securing Mikel Arteta’s future, strengthening the squad and managing sales to keep the finances in balance. The biggest priority is a new contract for Arteta, whose current deal runs to the end of next season, and there is growing confidence that an extension will be agreed this summer.

Arteta’s position has never been stronger after leading Arsenal to their first league title in 22 years. Reports suggest his new deal would run for at least three years and make him the highest-paid manager in England, reflecting how central he has become to the club’s long-term plan. Josh Kroenke has already made clear that keeping Arteta is a top priority.

Forward targets

Arsenal are also looking to strengthen in attack, with Morgan Rogers, Eli Junior Kroupi and Julian Alvarez among the names on their shortlist. Rogers and Kroupi are both expected to cost more than £80m, while Alvarez would likely command more than £120m, making him the most ambitious option of all.

Rogers is viewed as a particularly interesting fit because he can operate centrally or from the left, and sources say he is open to the move. Kroupi is another younger option Arsenal have tracked after a breakthrough season, while Alvarez remains the dream signing even though Barcelona are also pushing hard for him.

Sales and balance

Any major arrival will depend on departures. Arsenal are open to offers for Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson, while they are also prepared to listen to bids for Christian Norgaard and Ben White. Ethan Nwaneri’s future is under discussion too, with the club considering whether a homegrown sale would make sense financially.

That balancing act matters because Arsenal spent heavily last summer and have already handed out significant bonuses tied to their title win. The club know they need to stay ambitious without drifting into unsustainable spending, so some exits may be necessary before they can complete the kind of attacking overhaul Arteta wants.

Midfield and full-backs

The midfield picture is also fluid. Arsenal had considered moving on Myles Lewis-Skelly, but his impressive late-season form in central midfield may have changed that, while Mateus Fernandes has emerged as a possible option after West Ham’s relegation. Lewis-Skelly’s emergence could now reduce the need for an immediate midfield signing.

At full-back, Arsenal are looking at versatile options, including Newcastle’s Tino Livramento, though injuries have complicated his season. The club are also close to finalising a new deal for Jurrien Timber and are expected to open talks with Declan Rice over an extension.

Summer direction

The overall picture is clear: Arsenal want to build from a position of strength, not stand still after winning the league. Arteta’s contract, the club’s transfer targets and the need to manage sales are all part of the same plan. The challenge now is turning a title-winning squad into one capable of staying on top.
