Injury Update: Suns hopeful Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal will return against Lakers on Tuesday
Posted on November 23, 2024
The Phoenix Suns have a massive gap between games in the regular season that does not happen very often. It came at a great time as their stars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have been banged up, but their return is imminent.
The duo could return to action as soon as Tuesday against the Lakers, which is the team’s next game after nearly a week-long gap.
Mike Budenholzer said Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal were full participants in today’s practice on-court, and did 3-on-3. They have an off day tomorrow and then will be a full go on Sunday in 5-on-5 as the final hurdle ahead on Tuesday’s game.
Mike Budenholzer on Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal: “They did everything. Got some 3-on-3. So making that progression, checking those boxes.”
“The hope, the plan is they’ll play some 5-on-5 on Sunday, and continue to make that progression and hopefully be available for Tuesday against the Lakers.”
Phoenix has lost 5 straight games and while they have been competitive in some (including a couple of heartbreakers) it’s clear they need Kevin Durant back. And to a lesser extent, Bradley Beal’s absence has been felt. Simply put, the Suns need their best players to win games. Shocker.
Phoenix is capable of winning games with 2 of the 3 stars available, but when two of them are out, it’s an uphill battle.
When Kevin Durant plays, the Phoenix Suns are 8-1 this season. When at least two of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal play, the Phoenix Suns are 9-2.
