Tottenham Opens Talks to Sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur has initiated negotiations with Liverpool to acquire left-back Andy Robertson for a reported fee of £20 million. The Scottish international, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season, has expressed uncertainty about his future after struggling for consistent playing time this season.
Robertson, 31, has made just four Premier League starts this campaign and is eager for more regular involvement, especially with the upcoming World Cup in mind. Spurs have stepped in following an injury crisis in their defense, particularly with Rodrigo Bentancur sidelined for an extended period.
While Spurs have recently reinforced their left-back position with the signing of Brazilian Souza, Robertson’s vast experience and leadership as a former club captain make him an attractive proposition. His time at Liverpool has been marked by considerable success, including multiple trophies such as the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Manager Thomas Frank sees the potential in Robertson to add depth and experience to the squad, particularly given the many injuries hampering the team's performance. If the talks progress, Robertson could enhance Tottenham's ambitions in both domestic and European competitions as they aim for improvement in their season.
