Man City Lead Race for Forest's Elliot Anderson
Posted on April 24, 2026, updated on April 24, 2026
Manchester City are frontrunners to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson this summer, with Manchester United and Arsenal also interested. The 23-year-old England international joined Forest from Newcastle for £35m in 2024 and has impressed enough to attract top clubs.
City see Anderson as a key midfield target amid potential changes, with Bernardo Silva set to leave and uncertainty over Mateo Kovacic and Nico Gonzalez. Rodri is expected to stay despite Real Madrid interest.
Forest's contract with Anderson runs to 2029, so they could demand £80-125m, placing him among elite midfielders like Sandro Tonali on the market. A deal may wait until after the World Cup, where Anderson is tipped for a big role with England.
City's good relations with Forest could smooth negotiations. Analysts note Anderson's tackling and duels won could complement Rodri well, though adapting to City's style will be key.
City are also targeting RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi, and Feyenoord's Givairo Read.
